Like many ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe region, Sierra-at-Tahoe will be making some positive changes for the upcoming 2016-17 ski season.
Located off Highway 50 near South Lake Tahoe, Sierra-at-Tahoe averages of 460 inches of snow each season for skiers and snowboarders.
Expanded Sculpted Learning Terrain: Learning to ski or snowboard is all about balance, control and movement. To help with this, Sierra has an expanded learning environment that features SMART TERRAIN®. Designated, sculpted terrain that fosters an elevated learning curve so guests can progress more efficiently and gain confidence in their new sport, thanks to affordable options, sculpted learning terrain and certified instructors.
Powder Alliance Grows in Japan – Offers Added Value for Passholders: Sierra passholders can score 3 free days at Kiroro, to complete 42 days of free skiing at some of the best powder stashes in the west. The Powder Alliance welcomes Kiroro Snow World in Hokkaido, Japan. The Japanese resort had the most powder days in its region with 925 inches.
Updated Food and Beverage Offerings: As no stranger to emerging food trends, Sierra has revamped our menus at the base area and on-mountain dining locations in 2016/17. Sierra will continue to source sustainable, healthier food options in the Solstice Eatery, with the hungry snowsport enthusiast in mind.
Enhanced Digital Experience: Sierra will have a new website that will include the ability and opportunity to purchase more products, including lessons and rentals, ahead of time online.
Sierra Stakes its Claim in South Lake Tahoe: From Sierra to South Lake, the resort is improving the guest experience with an expanded guest services space located at the intersection of Highway 50 and Lake Tahoe Blvd in South Lake Tahoe. Tickets, reservations, retail and information will be available, making it easier for guests to become involved with Sierra while in the city.
Vapur Partnership: As stewards of environmental, Sierra-at-Tahoe has partnered with Vapur, makers of the flexible, reusable and eco-responsible “Anti-Bottle.” By establishing refillable water stations, all guests have access to four water stations around the resort in which they are encouraged to fill personal water bottles or purchase a reusable Vapur Anti-Bottle. This program aligns with Keep Sierra Green, our environmental initiative, by reducing waste and encouraging reusable options for staying hydrated.
