The curtain will come down Sunday (April 21) when three more Tahoe ski resorts will be shutting down for the 2023-24 season.
Six Tahoe ski resorts are already closed and Sierra-at-Tahoe, Diamond Peak and Heavenly will join the club on Sunday. Three more resorts are scheduled to close April 28, leaving Palisades Tahoe as the only ski resort still running its lifts with a scheduled closing date of May 27.

WELCOME BACK SIERRA: This was the first season back with 100% of terrain reopened for Sierra-at-Tahoe, which suffered from the devastating Caldor Fire that was responsible for scorching more than 221,000 acres, including 80% of the South Lake Tahoe ski resort.
“It was a winter of many firsts, from drawing fresh lines on a blank powder canvas to newly revealed side hits, completing first turns in a lesson, or discovering all the silver linings sculpted in our new mountain,” a Sierra press release stated.
Like all Tahoe ski resorts, the snow came often in March at Sierra, delivering 159 inches. For the season, Sierra-at-Tahoe recorded 346 inches of snow at its summit.
The Sierra closing weekend is packed with festivities, including live music, demo’s, brew sampling, and temporary tattoos and face painting,
DIAMOND PEAK DUMMY DOWNHILL: The event is the resort’s signature spring event, the biggest party of the year, and a great way to celebrate the final day of the ski season.
During the Dummy Downhill, participants build a dummy on skis or snowboards that gets launched off a big jump, while spectators get to watch as unique characters fly down the hill or crash hard.
A panel of celebrity judges will evaluate all Dummies on the snow by the Base Lodge, followed by the dummy launch and an awards ceremony. Prizes and certificates will be awarded for creativity, best crash, furthest distance, and more. Click here for full details on the Dummy Downhill event.
