If you enjoyed being a Sugar Bowl ski resort passholder this year, the enjoyment will only increase for the 2014-15 season.
Sugar Bowl ski resort announced Friday (March 8) that it will partner with Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows for passholders skiing and snowboarding privileges.
The partnership continues a new era as independent resorts continue to partner to offer considerable value for their season passholders.
Under the agreement, Sugar Bowl’s Unrestricted Season Passholders will receive four free tickets to Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows next season, which can be used Sunday-Friday on any non-holiday dates.
Squaw Valley’s Gold Season Passholders will receive four free lift tickets to Sugar Bowl or Royal Gorge XC, while Silver Passholders will receive two free tickets. All tickets will be redeemable Sunday-Friday and subject to holiday blackouts.
If tickets are used at Royal Gorge, North America’s largest cross country ski resort, XC ski rental equipment will be included free of charge.
The new passholder benefit also further complements Sugar Bowl’s current reciprocal skiing privileges with both Sun Valley Resort in Idaho and Grand Targhee in Wyoming.
“At Sugar Bowl and Royal Gorge we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional ski and ride experience,” said Sugar Bowl Resort/Royal Gorge CEO Rob Kautz. “This exciting new partnership will now offer our passholders even more, allowing them to enjoy the legendary terrain of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. Likewise, we look forward to showing off our own exceptional snow, terrain and services toSquaw Valley and Alpine Meadow’s skiers and riders.”
Sugar Bowl Resort offers 1,650 acres of skiing and riding across four mountain peaks, and averages the most annual snowfall in Tahoe at 500 inches per season. In addition to their beginner and intermediate terrain, Sugar Bowl offers coveted big-mountain terrain and gate-accessed backcountry skiing.
“We are constantly striving to provide more value to our loyal season passholders,” said Andy Wirth, president and CEO of Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. “Two years ago, we added value through our partnership with Sierra-at-Tahoe and the Mountain Collective – and we’re continuing that mission now by adding access to Sugar Bowl’s incredible terrain. We think the (latest) partnership is a terrific fit, and we know our passholders will really enjoy Sugar Bowl and Royal Gorge.”
With the new addition of Sugar Bowl, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows passholders now have access to a total of 12 resorts in North America. The TahoeSuperPass will continue to offer access to Sierra-at-Tahoe, as well as to Alta, Snowbird, Aspen Snowmass, Jackson Hole, Mammoth and Whistler Blackcomb through the resort’s Mountain Collective partnership.
