Sugar Bowl ski resort is not just a winter playground. The Lake Tahoe-area resort is also a location for plenty of summer activities as well.
Set in the natural playground of Donner Summit and headed by world-class athletes, naturalists and educators, Sugar Bowl’s summer camps are a unique opportunity for school-aged children to engage in experiential learning, master outdoor sporting skills and gain a deeper understanding of the natural environment.
Camps are tailored to specific age groups, ranging in age from 4-15. Activities include hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, swimming, mountain biking, nature art, storytelling and yoga.
Sugar Bowl Resort has been a California ski resort since 1939. It is located off Interstate 80 at the Norden/Soda Springs exit.
Sugar Bowl’s summer camps are offered through a partnership with Gateway Mountain Center. The center is headed by renowned rock climber, mountain guide and educator Peter Mayfield who works with a team of world-class instructors to deliver the high-quality experiential education programs.
