Sugar Bowl ski resort in Lake Tahoe is offering 50-percent off lift tickets Friday, Dec. 14.
Besides getting a great deal on lift tickets, purchasers will be helping residents of Butte County. To qualify for a 50-percent discount at Sugar Bowl, skiers and snowboarders need to bring a new, unwrapped toy valued at $15 or more. All toy donations will go to the local chapter supporting victims of the Camp Fire.
Adult lift tickets are $118 for adults (ages 23-64), $97 (ages 13-22 & 65-74), and $69 (ages 6-12 & seniors 75-plus). Kids 5-under ski free.
In addition, Sugar Bowl will contribute $5 per donated toy, per person to a charity supporting Camp Fire victims.
Sugar Bowl will also offer the fire victims complimentary skiing or snowboarding and equipment rentals on Dec. 14. To receive the free lift ticket and equipment rental, those impacted by the Camp Fire will need to show proof of address or their FEMA registration number.
“We recognize that those impacted by the Camp Fire may need a physical and mental break from what they’ve been dealing with,” said Jon Slaughter, director of marketing and sales at Sugar Bowl Resort. “Our intention is to offer them a day of fun in the snow on us. By partnering with Toys for Tots of Butte County, it also gives our guests and passholders an opportunity to help those who need it most this holiday season.”
Toys can be donated at any open ticket window at Sugar Bowl on Dec. 14. The lift ticket offer cannot be combined with any other offer.Located on Donner Summit off Interstate 80, Sugar Bowl offers the closest skiing to Sacramento and the Bay Area.
The ski resort is open daily with 84 runs, nine lifts spinning, and snow base depths up to 45 inches. Open Snow has indicated a series of weak storm systems could move through the region next week, contributing to the resort’s robust early season conditions.
