Although it’s been a disappointing ski season in Lake Tahoe, the season is ending in a very nice way for Squaw Valley ski resort.
Squaw Valley ski resort is the last Lake Tahoe resort to pull the curtain down on the 2014-15 ski season, concluding with skiing and snowboarding both today and Sunday (April 25) with a foot of new snow.
However, that curtain will be coming down with some fresh snow, something that’s been in short supply throughout the winter months. Squaw Valley received 3 inches of snow Friday and 9 more inches overnight, bringing a foot of new snow for skiers and riders today.
Squaw Valley ski resort, which has extended its ski season twice thanks to some late-season snowfall, will have four lifts and 12 runs available over the weekend.
The resort has lift tickets greatly reduced for the final week, going for $59 for adults, $51 for seniors (65-75) and young adults (13-22), and $34 for children (5-12) and super seniors (76-above).
Squaw Valley and neighboring Alpine Meadows say they are making it easier than ever for skiers and snowboarders to commit to the purchase of next winter’s season pass. The resorts, which are located practically next door to each other off Highway 89 in North Lake Tahoe, are offering a “worry-free guarantee” to those who purchase the 2015-16 Gold or Silver Tahoe Super Pass.
The guarantee includes the ability to roll over up to four unused days during the 2015-16 winter season for credit toward the purchase of a 2016-17 Tahoe Super Pass.
The Tahoe Super Pass provides good variety in Tahoe – all on one pass. With skiing and riding at Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, there are additional days at Sugar Bowl and Sierra-at-Tahoe.
How the “worry-free guarantee” works – If the passholder skis or rides less than five days on their 2015-16 Tahoe Super Pass, Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows will credit them up to four days toward the purchase of their 2016-17 Tahoe Super Pass. If the passholder does not ski or ride at all during the 2015-16 season, four days will be automatically credited toward the purchase of their 2016-17 Tahoe Super Pass.
The “worry-free guarantee” is only available on Gold and Silver Tahoe Super Pass purchases made by May 7, 2015. Restrictions apply.
