Accomplished artists, musicians, breweries and wineries will converge this weekend at the 14th annual The Village at Squaw Valley’s Art Wine and Music Festival.
The event takes place Saturday and Sunday (July 11-12) at Squaw Valley, where guests can bask in the sun, listen to music, and enjoy the mountain air with a cool drink in hand. The Art Wine and Music Festival supports a local Tahoe non-profit – Disabled Sports USA Far West.
Squaw Valley is a European-inspired Village features five restaurants, all with outdoor seating, bars, and eateries along with a variety of boutiques and galleries.
The annual celebration welcomes 30 fine artisans, wine and Tahoe Mountain Brewery beers by the glass and continuous live music at this free, family-friendly event starting at 11 a.m. each day.
Unlimited wine tasting (with a festival glass) is available each day from 2-5 p.m., featuring wines from 20 wineries, including Moniz Family Wines, Lumen Wines, Wrath Wines, Voss, Red Car Winery and more.
There is also plenty for the kids to do at the Art Wine and Music Festival , including 18 holes of miniature golf, the sky jump bungee trampoline, rock climbing wall and more.
Each day will be full of music across three performance stages, with performers including Milton Merlos, Tim High, Calling Ophelia, and Serina Dawn on Saturday; and Guitar Town, Sandor Y Su Mecanica, Lucas and Darby, Colleen Akiki, and Chi McClean on Sunday.
The Painted Vine will participate in this year’s event and guide guests in the creation of their own hand-painted wine glass for a fee. Kids’ projects will also be available. Attendees can also take part in the communal painting, where they can add their creative touch to a hand-painted canvas for Disabled Sports USA Far West.
There is no charge for entry to the festival. However, wine tasting with glass is $25.
The entire event festival is a benefit for Disabled Sports USA Far West, with 100 percent of the wine tasting proceeds going to the organization. Disabled Sports USA Far West has been providing adaptive sports and relational activities for over 40 years in the Lake Tahoe area.
They offer adaptive snowsports, waterskiing, cycling, paddle sports, 4WD adventures, and campouts throughout the year.
