The fun activities have increased this summer at Resort of Squaw Creek, which has a number of interesting things to do in the summer months for visitors at the resort hotel in Lake Tahoe.
Resort at Squaw Creek, a luxury California resort with an idyllic mountain setting, features 405 luxurious resort rooms and suites. It recently announced a variety of new offerings for this summer, including an astrology tour, numerous guided hiking and biking packages, and immersive classes to showcase the area’s recreational activities. Squaw Creek is located at the base of Squaw Valley ski resort.
“The prime location of Resort at Squaw Creek, just minutes away from North Lake Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Mountains, literally opens the door for us to create specially-curated outdoor experiences and adventures for our guests,” said Andre Priemer, area managing director of Resort at Squaw Creek. “From exploring the constellations with our on-site astrologer, to learning fly fishing skills and a variety of outdoor activities, the resort has an activity for everyone.”
Numerous activities are available for guests just steps away from their hotel room, including family-friendly games such as shuffle board, soccer, and life-size chess and checkers at the Squaw Creek Pavilion. Guests can also enjoy the property’s three outdoor swimming pools, a 120-foot water slide, and “dive-in” movie screenings at the main pool.
Squaw Creek boasts numerous guided hiking and biking experiences. Available for adults and children 10-above, the new guided Shirley Canyon Hike includes lunch and a journey through a beautiful canyon surrounded by granite walls and flowing waterfalls. Accompanied by a naturalist guide, guests will learn about the area’s rich history, the surrounding trees, and the various wildlife on the way to High Camp to enjoy incredible views of Lake Tahoe.
Guests can also partake in the new Bike and Paddle experience. The journey begins with a leisurely bike ride along the Truckee River on the way to Tahoe City and the lake. Upon arriving at the lake, guests will receive stand-up paddle boards to explore some of the lake’s best areas, followed by lunch on the beach before returning to the resort.
The new Bike and Float offering features a bike ride to-and-from the Truckee River, and a laidback rafting trip down the river, with lunch provided. In addition to these experiences, Squaw Creek offers golf on the resort’s eco-friendly 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent Jones.
The full-service Spa at Squaw Creek offers guests a rejuvenating respite with massage treatments, facials, and body treatments. The spa’s new Blending Bar allows guests to create a customized spa product to use during their treatment or to take home. Guests can choose their own personalized bath oil, exfoliating scrub or essential oil by mixing fresh natural products such as rose, lavender, sage, pine, and take it home as a wonderful memory of their spa experience.
