Live music, mountain parties, competitions, and spring fashion will inhabit the mountain. This combination of fun and funky entertainment can only mean one thing in South Lake Tahoe: Spring skiing has arrived.
To celebrate spring skiing, Heavenly Mountain Resort and Tahoe South will unveil “Spring Loaded,” which will feature nine days of excitement and sun-filled festivities.
“We are excited to kick off the spring season with these great events for all of our guests to enjoy,” said Pete Sonntag, vice president and chief operating officer of Heavenly. “With spring snow and lively entertainment, Spring Loaded will turn up the heat and bring plenty of fun in the sun to accompany our diverse terrain and high-quality snow conditions.”
Bluebird days and mild temperatures will bring out the enthusiasm in everyone with spring snow conditions, breath-taking views on the horizon and plenty of high-energy events. These nine fun-filled days of Spring Loaded will bring live music, skiing and riding, and the après that will quickly turn into a wild night full of entertainment.
Unbuckle Après Party – March 28-29, April 2-5, 3:30-5:30 p.m.
Join the world-famous Heavenly Angels for Tahoe’s ultimate indoor and outdoor après party at Tamarack Lodge for Unbuckle. The high-altitude, major-attitude party features Mountain Dew drink specials, half-price drinks, food specials, swag giveaways, a live DJ, lots of dancing and lots of Angels.
DJ Cat Afternoon Concerts – March 28-April 3
As the doors swing open and the music starts pumping, the party presented by Mountain Dew kicks off at Heavenly with our one-of-a-kind DJ cat. Live DJs will be spinning beats and bringing the high energy all afternoon, a perfect segue to Unbuckle.
On March 28-29 and April 2-3, the DJ cat concert will take place from 1-3 p.m., and on March 30-April 1, the party will be from 2-4 p.m.
Beach Games with the Angels – March 30-April 1, 2-4 p.m.
Challenge the Heavenly Angels to one of the many beach games outside Tamarack Lodge for a chance to win tickets to the Yonder Mountain String Band concert on April 3.
Gunbarrel 25 – March 29, 10 a.m.
Bring the endurance on 25 laps on the famous moguls of The Face and East Bowl. Show off those legs of steel at the one-of-a-kind marathon of moguls for a day of challenging, adrenaline-rushing fun.
Local freestyle champion Sho Kashima will appear at the event and sign autographs at the awards ceremony celebration.
Wing Loaded – April 2, 1-3 p.m.
Don’t be chicken. Prove to those buddies of yours that you are the wing-eating champ by taking home the title at Wing Loaded. This chicken wing eating contest at Tamarack Lodge will pack the punches as you pack on the pounds.
Red Bull Snow Warz – April 4-5
Wear your college letters and support the college teams for this invite-only, jam format slopestyle competition in Ante Up terrain park on April 5. Afterwards, mix it up with the collegiate crew at a special Unbuckle après party featuring Red Bull drink specials.

Heavenly Ski Patrol Fundraiser – April 5, 6 p.m.
Looking for a way to thank those brave men and women you rescued you or kept you safe on the mountain? Join members of the Heavenly ski patrol in the HeavenlyVillage for their annual Heavenly Ski Patrol Fundraiser.
Portions of the proceeds will be donated to the Special Olympics, as well as other local non-profits. Cap off the season with the DJ cat and avalanche rescue dogs for a good cause.
Live Music and Film Festivals – March 28-April 5
Get inspired by attending The Wild and Scenic Film Festival on March 27 at MontBleu Casino at 7 p.m. Hip soulful band, G Love and Special Sauce will be in Reno at the Grand Sierra Resort Hotel on Friday, March 28.
The BANFF Mountain Film Festival will be at Harrah’s Casino on March 31 at 7 p.m. Yonder Mountain String Band will be at MontBleu Casino on Thursday, April 3 for some unique rock blended bluegrass music, and ZZ Ward will be heating up Harrah’s on April 5.
