Mt. Rose ski resort continues to offer some of the best conditions in the region with more than 80 percent of its terrain open, and snowmaking continuing in order to supplement Mother Nature’s efforts. Long-range weather forecasts indicate snow could continue early next week, and that additional storms may be on the horizon throughout the month of March.
Spring Season Passes are now on sale, allowing resort guests to take advantage of the fresh snow and the established base Mt. Rose has maintained all season. Spring Pass options allow skiers and riders to put $133 down now, ski or ride the rest of this season, as well as all of next winter, with the balance of their season pass price to be paid prior to the start of the 2015-2016 winter season.
“Elevation has been everything this season, and with our base area located at over 8,000 feet, the snow conditions and skiing and riding experience at Mt. Rose have been the best in Tahoe all winter long,” said Mike Pierce, director of marketing at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe. “We’re pleased to be able to continue to provide our guests with a high quality experience.”
At Diamond Peak ski resort, the cold evening weather has been ideal for making snow. The resort in Incline Village says it has created 2-5 feet of new snow since Saturday night.
Diamond Peak currently has about 48% of its trails open (59% in trail acreage) with top-to-bottom skiing on 1,840 vertical. Open terrain includes the two major trails off Crystal Quad Express- Flume and Crystal Ridge (voted one of the World’s Top 100 Best Ski Trails by CNN Travel).
“Our mixture of snowmaking technologies allow us to maximize our ability to make snow across the resort,” Diamond Peak General Manager Brad Wilson said.
