In case you hadn’t noticed, the ski season is winding down in Lake Tahoe.
It’s mid-April, so that shouldn’t come as a surprise to any skiers or snowboarders, since Tahoe ski season typically extends longer than many other U.S. ski areas.
This is the last major weekend for heading down the slopes at many Tahoe ski resorts. Eight of the 12 resorts will be shutting down on Easter Sunday, April 20. That leaves three Tahoe resorts with their slopes still open, and two of them – Sugar Bowl, Mt. Rose – have closing dates of April 27.

One Tahoe ski resort will again be offering skiing and riding into late May. In keeping with tradition, Palisades Tahoe is the last resort to run its lifts seven days a week (weather and conditions permitting), closing Memorial Day (May 26). The last day to ski the Alpine side of Palisades Tahoe is April 27.
The only other California ski resort open in May is Mammoth Mountain, which also has a Memorial Day closing date.
