For anyone interested in experiencing both a health and fitness outing, The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe is offering an appealing weekend to reach those needs.
The Ritz-Carlton, Lake Tahoe, which is located at mid-mountain at Northstar California, is kicking off summer with a healthy start to participate in a weekend full of health and wellness themed activities, including yoga and fitness classes, nutrition discussions and healthy cooking demonstrations.
The “Wellness Weekend” will take place June 5-7.
The weekend will feature a variety of fitness classes provided by Reno-based Mayberry Athletic Center (MAC) and E-RYT 500 Yoga Alliance certified teacher Rachel Jackson and nutritional coach “Paleo Nick” Massie.
The schedule of events includes:
- Friday: Open house and registration in The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Lake Tahoe
- Saturday: Fitness classes throughout the day with options including group Fit, Yoga and Spin
Hands-on healthy cooking class with Paleo Nick (lunch included), Team Geocaching Fitness Challenge. Cocktail reception with fitness instructors
- Sunday: Choice of fitness class with options including group Fit, Yoga and Spin.
Brunch buffet including smoothie station and a mimosa and Bloody Mary bar
Local residents and visitors to the region are invited to participate in the Wellness Weekend, and can purchase a Saturday Only Pass that includes access to all of the classes and activities scheduled on Saturday, June 6 and access to all of the Spa facilities for the day for $150 per person.
The Weekend Pass includes participation in all of the scheduled events, and access to all of the Spa facilities for the weekend for $225 per person. Drop-ins are also welcome to participate in any of the classes offered for $30 per class, excluding access to the Spa facilities. A 25-percent discount valid at all resort dining outlets and The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Lake Tahoe will be extended to package guests attending the Wellness Weekend June 5-7, 2015.
Based in nearby Reno, Nevada, the Mayberry Athletic Center aims to motivate, empower and help its clients achieve their fitness goals. MACs trainers focus on technique while being creative, fun and inspirational and leading one-on-one, semi-private, and highly energized group fitness classes. Coaches follow the philosophy that providing safe, efficient, fun workouts makes training more enjoyable and allows clients to reach their goals faster.
Rachel Jackson, Los Angeles based Lululemon ambassador, has been teaching yoga for 10 years and practicing for 15 in New York, Los Angeles, and around the world. Her classes are centered on physical and spiritual themes that are woven throughout every heart opening, alignment-specific practice. For the past 10 years, Rachel has taught at the finest studios in Los Angeles including Equinox, Exhale, Urth Yoga, Black Dog Yoga, and Center for Yoga – Yogaworks.
Nick Massie has spent the past 20 years working in hospitality, restaurant management and as a private chef in Minnesota, Colorado, Alaska and California. Currently, Nick runs the website www.PaleoNick.com, featuring instructional cooking videos based on the Paleo Diet. He will lead a hands-on healthy cooking class that includes a discussion of what the “right foods” are for active people, along with a live demonstration, followed by lunch.
When confirming package reservations for the Wellness Weekend, participants must indicate whether they would like to participate in the session with Paleo Nick, as availability is limited.
While the Wellness Weekend occurs only once this summer, guests have other opportunities to experience the restorative features of the resort throughout the spring and summer seasons.
