Palisades Tahoe will once again likely be the last Tahoe ski resort to close for the 2024-25 season.

The resort recently announced it intends to remain open through Memorial Day ( May 26) – conditions permitting. A year ago, the resort also close on Memorial Day.
It hasn’t been the deepest of seasons in the Lake Tahoe region, but enough snow has fallen that several ski resorts are expected to extend the season into mid-to-late April. Announcements should come soon.
The latest storm cycle delivered 59 inches of snow at Palisades Tahoe, bringing March’s total to 183 inches thus far. With these latest totals, the resort has now reached 326 inches, the third most snow among Tahoe ski resorts.
According to the Central Sierra Snow Lab, the Tahoe region is at 98% of median snowfall to date.
Known for its spring skiing, Palisades Tahoe has a sizable list of events this time of year. Below is a list of spring events.
Pain McShlonkey Classic: Held each year on International Snowblade Day, snowbladers race down KT-22 to claim the coveted Golden Saucer trophy. The event is scheduled for Saturday, March 22.

The Mothership Classic: A pledge-driven fundraiser for The High Fives Foundation, competitors will see how many “hot-laps” they can take down KT-22 on Sunday, March 23.
Town Race League: Palisades has relaunched their Wednesday afternoon/evening race league through April 9. The entire community is invited to participate each week.
Toyota U.S. Mogul Freestyle Championships: The country’s best mogul and aerial skiers will compete on the legendary Red Dog Face from March 27-30.
Snow Golf Tournament: Arguably the most fun event of the year, Alpine Meadows will challenge skiers and snowboarders to play a 10-hole course April 19, starting from the top of the Summit Lift and ending at The Chalet.
Registration is free and the resort will provide a golf club and two tennis balls to each participant.
Cushing Crossing: Allegedly the world’s first pond skim event, skiers and snowboarders will be invited to skim across Cushing Pond on May 3 while wearing costumes.
