The Christmas spirit will be evident throughout the upcoming days at Northstar California ski resort in North Lake Tahoe.
Located off Highway 267 in Truckee, Northstar California is a family-oriented resort with an ice rink in its Village. The ski resort has 20 lifts, including two gondolas, that access 100 trails, with 60% for intermediate skiers, 13% for beginners, and 27% for advanced skiers and riders. The longest run is 1.4 miles.
Northstar also has seven terrain parks for all skill levels, including the renowned Northstar Pinball Park. The Northstar snow tubing hill has its own lift.
“It’s shaping up to be a Hallmark-worthy winter wonderland at Northstar California,” said Northstar spokesperson Ashlee Lambert. “With nearly 3 feet of new snow and some more on the way just in time for Christmas, conditions couldn’t be better for holiday fun.”
Northstar has multiple holiday opportunities available for its guests over the holidays. Whether you are a daytime visitor or staying in the many Northstar lodging locations, celebrating in the village area is fun and convenient option.

SNOW REPORT
- Snowmaking magic: Low temps in the week ahead should insure good snow conditions and available terrain.
- White Christmas: Another storm system is on the horizon, potentially bringing more snow just in time for Christmas skiing and riding.
- More terrain opening: Thanks to the resort’s operations team, guests can now enjoy additional runs, with plans to open the Backside and possibly Lookout Mountain later this week.
