It’s been a long wait, but a powder day finally arrived Thursday at Heavenly Mountain Resort.
Heavenly ski resort in South Lake Tahoe had skiers and snowboarders rejoicing today as a much anticipated storm dumped 10-12 inches by 8 am this morning. The storm totaled 18-20 inches by 3 pm today.
The snow is expected at Heavenly ski resort to continue falling overnight and into Friday, setting resort guests up for a weekend of snow-filled fun. There could be another 4-8 inches of snow tonight, creating another powder day on Friday at Heavenly.
“This weather system brought a welcome boost to our snow base, along with the temperatures that will allow us to continue making snow ourselves,” said Pete Sonntag, vice president and chief operating officer of Heavenly. “We will continue to offer superb snow surface conditions, maximizing this significant natural snowfall with our expansive grooming and snowmaking fleets.
New terrain opened
With today’s addition of Jack’s, Double Down, Waterfall, and the entirety of High Five trail, skiers and riders at Heavenly ski resort can access 28 trails and 16.5 miles of skiing and riding, with more expected to open soon.
“New terrain opened throughout the day today, and we are in a great position to continue expanding terrain for our guests,” Sonntag said.
