The Nevada ski resort announced recently it will be expanding its recreational offerings, unveiling the new Wildslide Tahoe Tubing Center at the start of the 2025-26 winter season with a scheduled opening of Thanksgiving.

“We’re excited to offer a new, convenient way for people to have an exhilarating winter experience on the snow,” said Mike Pierce, Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe marketing director. “Snow tubing is an exciting activity that’s fun for all ages, and this new facility is going to give more people an introduction and easy access to winter thrills.”
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: Construction of the new tubing area will also include a new lodge and ample deck seating that will be accessible by both tubing guests and those visiting the resort to ski or snowboard. A new parking lot will provide convenient access to the tubing lanes, which will be located three-quarters of a mile west of the Mt. Rose main lodge entrance.

Featuring dedicated snowmaking, construction of the 750-foot-long tubing lanes started last year, with the remainder of the project to be completed this summer. The 20 snow tubing lanes with a conveyor lift that transports participants back up the hill.
The resort anticipates operating snow tubing during the winter season for guests of all ages. Small children must be able to ride independently in their own tube.
Tubing sessions will be sold in two-hour increments, with the operating schedule to be set closer to the start of the 2025-26 season. Current plans are for tubing to be offered Fridays through Sundays plus holidays. There will be group and corporate event booking opportunities midweek.
ROSE CHUTES: This season is the 20th anniversary of The Chutes, which have nine gates and access 16 advanced and expert/black diamond and double black diamond runs. The Chutes feature 40-55 degree pitches and 1,000 vertical feet to the base of the triple-seat Chuter chair.

The Chuter is on the Slide side of Mt. Rose and takes skiers and riders out of the Chutes, dropping them at the base of the Blazing Zephyr.
Once at The Chuter gates, the only way to go is down. Precision is key when skiing or riding the Chutes – quick, accurate turns are required and note there are obstacles like rocks and trees.
The Chutes opened to the public in the 2004-2005 season. However, daring skiers and have been going down The Chutes since the 1960s and getting their ski passes/lift tickets yanked because of it.
The 200-acre advanced and expert terrain is situated between the Mt. Rose side and Slide Mountain facing northeast in an area of the resort that tends to stay shaded most of the day because of how the sun travels. Its steep grade is prone to avalanches and was labeled out of bounds/a closed area for several decades.
