There’s at least one thing that skiers and snowboarders heading to Lake Tahoe ski resorts this weekend can be assured of – snow! And lots of it. For proof, check out the Lake Tahoe snow report below.
North Lake Tahoe ski resorts are reporting more than 1 foot of snow in the last 24 hours, while a new storm system is headed toward the region late tonight into Saturday morning, followed by another possible system moving in Sunday.
There will be no shortage of skiers and riders for Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend. The Lake Tahoe region has enjoyed numerous storms this season and all the resorts are reporting 100 percent open terrain, weather conditions permitting.
So far this season the region has received about 19 feet of total snowfall at the upper elevations, sitting at 142 percent above normal, according to the Nevada Natural Resources Conservation Service.

At South Lake Tahoe, Heavenly Mountain resort has received 1 foot of snow in the past 24 hours, 19 inches in the past week, and has a season total of 201 inches.
Another Vail Resort – Kirkwood – is reporting 15 inches over the past day, 22 inches during the last week, and 243 inches in season totals. Northstar has 246 inches this season.
