Although Lake Tahoe ski resorts have been making snow for several weeks, there’s nothing quite like the real thing.
Forecasters are calling for more than a foot of snow in upcoming storms, which should begin on Friday.
Thanks to the earlier snow this week and what’s expected over the next several days, two more Lake Tahoe ski resorts will be opening this week, bringing the total to eight open resorts available for skiing and snowboarding.
Sierra-at-Tahoe will start running its lifts on Friday (Dec. 6) and Sugar Bowl ski resort will follow with its opening Saturday.
Natural snowfall and cold temperatures make for ideal snowmaking, allowing the best of Lake Tahoe ski resorts to continue to deliver the most open trails and lifts. Forecasters are calling for more than a foot of snow in upcoming storms, great signs for an Epic ski season.
“This cold snap and our unparalleled snowmaking systems paired with idyllic natural snow is putting our Lake Tahoe ski resorts on top, offering the best conditions in the region,” said Northstar California Senior Vice President Bill Rock.
