With ski season over at Diamond Peak ski resort, the focus for some skiers and snowboarders now shifts to the two Incline Village Golf Courses, which will be opening in May.
The Championship Course is scheduled to open May 13 and the Mountain Course will follow a week later on May 20. Both openings are weather permitting.
“Our team is poised to continue to offer the best golf and service products possible for our residents and visitors alike,” said Michael McCloskey, PGA Senior Head Golf Professional. “The golf courses are gradually improving coming out of the winter season with the warmer weather this spring. We are thrilled to get the driving range open to allow our golfers to get their swings primed for opening day.”
The regulation, par-72 Championship Course has a driving range, practice facilities and the Grille at The Chateau. The par-58 Incline Village Mountain Golf Course features an amazing mountain layout with old growth trees, elevation changes, and incredible views of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Unseasonably warm temperatures at the end of March and early April helped melt the snowpack on the Incline Village Golf Courses and allowed the maintenance staff to start working on projects. The Mountain course will open a week after the Championship course due to the extra maintenance and projects required for the higher elevation course.
The practice facilities at the Championship Course are open or set to open on the following dates:
- Driving Range: open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting
- Chipping Green: open
- Putting Green: open Friday, May 6
