Like many Lake Tahoe ski resorts right now, Homewood Mountain has some spectacular ski conditions that are a huge draw for skiers and snowboarders.
Many Lake Tahoe ski resorts have already exceeded their season snow totals and it’s only mid-February. Homewood Mountain has snow depths ranging from 88 inches at the base area to 191 inches on the upper mountain.
And more snow is on the way, starting Thursday. The National Weather Service forecast is calling for snow through the weekend, offering a powder “reset” and building on the resort’s high quality mid-winter conditions and snow base.
“Thanks to the strong winter we’ve had so far, and what’s still to come based on the extended forecast, the skiing and riding conditions at Homewood are some of the best we’ve had in years,” said Kevin Mitchell, general manager of Homewood Mountain Resort. “For those who may be experiencing the fear of missing out, it’s time to plan your trip to Tahoe now.”
Located on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, Homewood has been offering families a winter experience since 1961. Homewood is a great spot for skiers and snowboarders looking for a bargain on lift access and adult first-timer lessons. Homewood’s daily lift tickets start as low as $49 when purchased online in advance. In addition, lift ticket 3-Packs are also available for advance purchase for $66 per day. These non-transferrable lift tickets can be used by one person any three days of the 2016-17 season with no restrictions.
For those just starting out, Homewood offers a $59 first-time adult ski and snowboard package that makes it incredibly affordable to learn to ski or ride. Valid Sunday through Friday, non-holiday, this package includes a half-day lesson, all-day rental equipment and lift ticket accessing beginner terrain.
The Learn to ski/ride 3-pack extends the $59 lesson package for two additional days at the same daily rate, and adds in Homewood’s Learn to ski/ride guarantee – participants will be skiing or riding down one of the resort’s signature upper mountain beginner runs by the third day or the fourth day is free.
After a day on the slopes, the West Shore Cafe offers complimentary s’mores and après ski specials. S’mores making ingredients will be available on a first-come, first-served basis from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the restaurant’s lakeside deck, with other après ski specials beginning at 3 p.m. daily.
