Three Lake Tahoe ski resorts are already planning for opening day of the 2014-15 ski season. Weather and conditions permitting, both Heavenly and Northstar ski resorts will begin running lifts Friday, Nov. 21 at and one day later Kirkwood opens.
The three Vail Resorts in Lake Tahoe can all be accessed regularly with a purchase of the Epic Pass. Below is a breakdown of the season pass offerings.
- Tahoe Value Pass: Best for guests who can accommodate a few restrictions. It is available for $429, and is ideal for people who plan to ski or ride seven days a week at Heavenly and six days a week at Northstar and Kirkwood. The Tahoe Value Pass has holiday restrictions at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood with Saturdays excluded at Northstar and Kirkwood. Pass holders can purchase lift tickets valid at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood Resorts on restricted days for $59 per day.
- Tahoe Local Pass: The best way to access Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood seven days a week. It includes Saturday access at all
three resorts with limited holiday restrictions, all for $479. Pass holder tickets are available for purchase for $59 during blackout dates at Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood.
- Epic Local Pass: Best for local Tahoe skiers who might plan a trip to Utah or Colorado. It offers unlimited, non-holiday access to Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood, as well as Park City, and Canyons; pass holder tickets are available for purchase for $59 during blackout dates. Epic Local also offers unlimited, unrestricted access to Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Afton Alps and Mt. Brighton and also includes a total of ten days at Vail and Beaver Creek with holiday restrictions. Available for $569.
- The Epic Pass: Unlimited skiing at every resort all winter for $749. The 2014-15 Epic Pass features unlimited, unrestricted skiing and riding at Vail, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Arapahoe Basin in Colorado; Park City and Canyons in Utah; Heavenly, Northstar and Kirkwood at Lake Tahoe; Afton Alps in Minnesota and Mt. Brighton in Michigan. Furthermore, Epic Pass holders have the opportunity to extend their skiing and riding adventures globally with up to five consecutive free days each (when booking in-resort lodging) at the renowned mountain resorts of Les 3 Vallées, France (Courchevel, La Tania, Méribel, Brides-les-Bains, Les Menuires, Saint Martin de Belleville, Val Thorens and Orelle) and Verbier, Switzerland, and five consecutive free days at Niseko United, Japan. Vail Resorts is offering the pass at $749 for adults and $389.
