January is a great month to learn how to ski and ride at a Lake Tahoe ski resort.
Vail Resorts Inc., which owns three ski resorts – Heavenly Mountain Resort, Kirkwood Mountain Resort and Northstar California – in the Tahoe region, are offering a variety of options for skiers and snowboarders.
Throughout January in recognition of Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month, a national initiative which encourages children and adults to establish a strong skiing or riding foundation by taking lessons with a professional instructor.
“There is simply no substitute for the experience that a professional instructor can provide,” said Pete Sonntag, vice president and chief operating officer at Heavenly Mountain Resort. “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month is our way of letting people know that learning these sports is fun, safe and affordable. Skiing and snowboarding are lifelong pursuits, and when Lake Tahoe is the classroom, everyone can learn to enjoy them.”
