Alterra Mountain Company announced earlier this week that Eric Clark will assume the position of Resort President at Mammoth Mountain ski resort in California.
Alterra Mountain Company operates Mammoth Mountain, located on California’s Eastern Sierra range, approximately 100 miles south of the Nevada state line and 50 minutes from the eastern gate of Yosemite.
Clark was previously the Chief Operating Officer of resort services at Mammoth. He has more than 30 years of experience in the ski industry, enabling him to accumulate immense knowledge of resort management and ski area operations.
“Eric is passionate about the Mammoth Mountain community and its team. I have no doubt he will continue to thrive at the helm of this special place.” said Ron Cohen, EVP, Alterra Mountain Company and former COO & President of Mammoth Mountain.
Clark graduated from Colorado College with a degree in Economics and received his MBA from the University of Denver. Growing up in Colorado, Clark has always been passionate about the mountains and skiing, writing his senior thesis on ‘An Analysis of the Colorado Ski Industry.’
Clark entered the Mammoth Mountain scene in 2013 as Chief Operating Officer of Hospitality. He oversaw all Mammoth lodging properties, Sierra Star Golf Course and the catering department. By 2015, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer of Resort Services, putting him in charge of hospitality, food and beverage, retail, staff accommodations, and guest services divisions.
“I have always been very proud to be a part of the world-class Mammoth Mountain team, the community here in Mammoth Lakes, and the mountain community we are building within Alterra,” Clark said. “I am extremely honored to lead this world-class Mammoth team as we continue inviting people to our Eastern Sierra community for mountain adventure and fun.”
Clark says he is dedicated to improving the guest experience, while increasing revenue and supporting the local community. He is involved in many community organizations, including serving on the board of Mammoth Lakes Tourism as well as the board of Mammoth Hospital Foundation.
