Diamond Peak ski resort General Manager – Brad Wilson – has accepted a new position in Bogus Basin, Idaho as the General Manager of the Bogus Basin Recreation Area.
According to the Incline Village General Improvement District (IVGID), Wilson said he is excited for his new endeavor in Idaho and the opportunity to provide strategic and operational leadership and transition the ski area into a year-round recreational area. He has over 30 years of industry experience in resort operations, master planning, and marketing and sales expertise.
“I’m looking forward to this new career growth opportunity. My decision to accept the position in Idaho is personal and no reflection on IVGID,” said Wilson, whose last day as Diamond Peak GM is Nov. 5. “It’s been an honor to work for a terrific organization and the most conscientious group of people I’ve ever had the privilege of working with.”
Wilson’s accomplishments with IVGID include developing a competitive pricing structure at the ski area which resulted in an increase in revenue per skier and a dramatic decrease in the rates for residents. He also developed holiday and dynamic pricing structure, influenced the marketing and sales plan, creating a consistent brand, look and feel throughout the District, and a much needed update of the Diamond Peak Master Plan.
“Brad’s leadership, vision, management skills and marketing acumen has kept Diamond Peak a top performer during a very challenging four years in the ski industry,” said Steve Pinkerton, IVGID General Manager. “He’s also done a great job of empowering and developing his employees and ensuring a succession plan was in place for all key positions.”
Mike Bandelin will serve as the Interim Diamond Peak General Manager.
“I’m confident that Mike is the very best person to handle resort operations and the next steps of the Master Plan,” Wilson said.
