Another day of snowfall and more arriving Friday morning will set up one of the best weekends for skiing and snowboarding this season in Lake Tahoe.

Following sizable snow totals earlier in the week, another storm Thursday (Feb. 6) resulted in 10 Tahoe ski resorts reporting 7 or more inches, led by 20 inches at Mt. Rose and this message on its website.
“Another deep day (of snow), bring on the Snorkel! Over 5 feet of snow this week.”

Mt. Rose is reporting 20 inches of fresh snow Friday morning at its summit and 18 at its base area. That hike’s the Nevada ski resort (approximately 10 miles from Incline Village in North Lake Tahoe) snow total to 211 inches for the 2024-25 season.
Palisades Tahoe keeps building its snow totals as well, getting 14 inches Thursday after receiving 18 inches two days earlier. After getting a disappointing 3 inches earlier in the week, Sierra-at-Tahoe got hit with a foot of new snow by Friday morning.
Sugar Bowl added 9 inches to its season total, the most among Tahoe ski resorts at 218 inches. The resort, located off Interstate 80 at Donner Summit, has gotten just shy of 4 feet of snow (47 inches) in the past week.
“If you’re chasing powder, the upper slopes will be your best bet Friday,” Sugar Bowl posted on its website. “Snowfall is expected to continue through most of the day, bringing an additional 2-4″ of fresh powder.”
